✒ IC Name: Rapunzel Canon: Tangled Canon Point: A little while after some children braid her hair, before she sees the lanterns. Age: 18
Personality: For someone who spent the majority of her life confined to a tower, Rapunzel is a surprisingly high spirited and adaptable young woman. Having lead a sheltered life, with only her mother and her pet Pascal as her only company; Rapunzel proves to be quite perceptive at least when it comes to those who are not her mother. She's just paranoid enough that she won't just take everything that is said to her at face value. Since her mother drilled it into her from a young age that the world at large was a dangerous terrible place. So she's not super trusting at least not a first, but it's easy enough to earn her trust. If someone shows kindness to her or in general proves to be helpful than she is more than willing to trust them and call them friend.
By nature, she is curious of everything, she likes learning new things and exploring the world. More than anything she wants to prove that she can stand on her own feet and that her mother doesn't always have to protect her. Of course like any teenage girl, she has a lot self-doubt and gets disheartened. But once she thinks things over, she readily tries again. She craves freedom and human interaction. She wants to be out in the world, making friends and doing what she wants to do. Rather than doing what she is told to do. She's not someone who readily lies and the lies she does tell always bug her and make her feel like an awful person. She's just naive enough that she can be taken in by fake sincerity to a point. Though the more she interacts with shady or questionable characters, the more she does begin to notice something is off.
She has a hard time seeing her mother is manipulating her, but when Flynn tries to manipulate her, she picks up on it fairly quick. Thus it goes to show that when it comes to her mother, the blinders are on. Mainly because she doesn't consider that her mother would ever need to lie to her. Why should she? That's her mother, who loves her and wants to protect her. Though the more time she spends away from her mother, the more she begins to see that maybe her mother was exaggerating things. Through her travels with Flynn, she also learned not to judge a book by its cover. Between Flynn and the Viking thugs, she's seen that appearances are not what they are cracked up to be. Since they are some of the nicest people that she has met and they are pretty much all criminals.
Overall she's a cheerful, energetic, excitable, daring and friendly girl, looking for her own place in the world, doing her best to follow her dream and maybe, just maybe find a new dream.
Canon Abilities or Powers: Direct contact with Rapunzel's hair while reciting the healing incantation can reverse injuries and temporarily restores youth. She's also very agile, dexterous, and quick. She has 70 feet of hair on her head and she carries it around with no problem. Her hair itself seems to have enough durability/strength to it that she can use it as a lasso/rope to tie things up, or use it to lift things that are too heavy for her to lift on her own. She also uses it for swinging around and climbing.
Fairy Tale Role: Maid Marion (Robin Hood) Fairy Tale Powers or Abilities: Maid Marion has no powers, but she is capable with a blade, both swords and daggers and has some skill in using a bow and arrows but she doesn't come close to matching Robin's skills. Mainly she is good at masking her skills and true nature beneath a mask of regal and aristocratic behavior. She's the woman whom others think need protecting but in actuality can protect herself quite well.
Personal Items: The clothes on her back, her frying pan, the satchel with the crown in it and Pascal.
First Person Sample: I'm not exactly sure what is going on. I just know people keep referring to me as someone named Maid Marion, but anytime I try to tell them that's not my name, they cut me off and just laugh at me like I am making a joke.
I don't know what I am suppose to do. It doesn't feel right trying handle her business, when I'm not actually her, you know? I wish Flynn were here...I wish my mother were here. Everything is so confusing. I just want to go back home. When mother said the world was a dangerous place, she never mentioned anything like this.
