To apply for a character, fill out the correct application down below and post it a comment on this entry. Please do not link applications in your journal or delete the comments once your application is processed. Let us know if you would like your application screened.

Apps open on the first of every month and remain open for one week, during which time the mods will begin processing. We're optimistic and hope you'll get the result of your app within a day, but some may take longer depending on the familiarity of the mods with the canon, and the number of apps received in that cycle. If four or more days pass with no response then we suggest you contact a mod.

You can reserve and apply for two characters per app cycle. Currently, players are allowed a maximum of three characters in-game at any given time.

Applications will be judged primarily on the personality section of the character in question, and how the player intends to adapt them into their new role. For this part we're mostly interested in what you plan to do with their powers and new destiny, not how the character will react to it. We'll see that in-game!

Since any OC applications must fall in the range of fairy tales that already exist in the world of Myth Making, these will be held to a higher expectation.

Processing will result in applications being accepted or denied, or revisions requested. Don't worry if you're asked for revisions! It means we're interested in your app, but require more information about something. We'll let you know what that is. If you are asked for revisions, you'll be given one week to provide them.

You are allowed to re-use sections of applications you wrote previously, so don't worry about rewriting your entire personality section. Do NOT plagiarise any part of another player's application for your own, as this will result in an instant ban.

Name: Shinjiro Aragaki

Canon Point: Following Graduation (and awakening from his coma)
Age: 17

Personality: When first introduced, Shinjiro is best summed up as a rough individual. He's crass and tough, hanging around some shady people in the Alleyways of Tatsumi Port Island. Of course, he does later beat them up when they hassle the Protagonist and friends looking for him to find out more about the recent school rumors, proving he has no qualms resorting to violence. As they are the new members of SEES, he gives them what little he knows and tells them to leave, not wanting them around to remind him of the old days.

At this point, we don't know that Shinjiro was an original member of SEES. He smiled, joked, and had a great deal of sarcasm, but his joining was unexpected. Mitsuru only recruited Akihiko originally, but Shinjiro forced himself in to make sure Akihiko would be alright. The two met years ago, growing up in the same orphanage and had become brothers; they were always there for each other. Following the loss of his sister in a fire, Akihiko became determined to become stronger to prevent losing more people he loved, but Shinjiro saw it his job to rein his friend in and make sure he didn't get too cocky. Unfortunately, looking after Akihiko, Shinjiro neglected reining in himself and lost control of his Persona while on a mission. It was something Akihiko had feared and now, it was reality. On that fateful night, Shinjiro took a young mother's life and left SEES shortly after.

His tough persona outwardly expressed covers up the more compassionate and gentle individual inside, eaten by guilt and willing to die if it means preventing more mistakes like his. He only joins SEES again to look after Ken and confront the younger male in order to try preventing him from taking his revenge. However, if Ken still wanted to go through with it, Shinjiro would let him. If Ken decided not to, Shinjiro was still going to die as a side effect of a drug suppressing his Persona's power.

Still, concern isn't only directed at Ken. While he is top priority, Shinjiro actually cares for all the members of the current SEES even if he has funny ways of showing it. He does small things like chides Akihiko about his constant Beef Bowl consumption (damn Protein Junkie), makes sure Fuuka doesn't destroy the kitchen, and even prepares Koromaru's food himself. The kitchen is actually Shinjiro's domain as he's a skilled chef. Also, he can't keep himself from revealing his big heart to animals especially dogs. It's due to this concern that it takes a while for him to come around to trusting people, the Protagonist especially as their leader in combat.

Canon Abilities or Powers: Shinjiro is built like a powerhouse both normally and through his ability to summon a Persona. Yes, he's one of the three original members of SEES having signed on after Akihiko did. However, he doesn't exhibit the same amount of control over it like Akihiko and Mitsuru which results in the accident which made him leave. His Persona, Castor, has no weaknesses or resistances, proving he's an all or nothing combatant. This is further exemplified by the fact all of Castor's abilities are physical attacks IE summon abilities that cost the user's Health Points. To counter this fact though, Castor can also counter attacks and restores Shinjiro's health by a certain percent each round.

Besides his Persona, Shinjiro relies on his own physical strength. He can withstand the brunt of most attacks and even Akihiko's fists (Akihiko being a trained boxer) and dish out worse in return. A single fist or headbutt can send the average guy flying or knock them flat on their ass. Also, it's worth noting that his weapon of choice is an axe which he typically carries with one hand over his shoulder.

Fairy Tale Role: The Older Brother from "The Two Brothers" by the Brothers Grimm (that's not a tongue twister)

Fairy Tale Powers or Abilities:
• Gold Production - Part of the tale has the twin brothers consume two bits (the heart and liver to be accurate) that fall from the golden bird. After eating these two pieces respectively divided between them, both brothers begin to wake up with a single gold coin beneath their heads every morning. It happens every time he sleeps, there's no helping it whether Shinjiro wants it to happen or not.

• Gift of Gab - Or the ability to speak to and befriend animals (if he wants). The tale has the two brothers hunt and spare a hare, a fox, a wolf, a bear, and a lion in that order. As a result, each brother is given the offspring of each animal as thank you and goes on to travel with them. Shinjiro will have the company of these animals, but considering how he already prefers animals to people. There's also a dog, but that one was a gift from their foster-father.

• Huntsman Skills - While already able to fight and a cook, he'll gain the marksmanship and swordsmanship abilities of his character as well as gain his weapons: one gun and a double-edged sword.

• Twin Illusion - Though Shinjiro may not look exactly like his twin or vise versa, it's like a momentary illusion that keeps people from telling them apart. Only once told apart will it be broken, but it resets every time upon meeting.

Personal Items: His beanie, his usual clothes (maroon pea coat, boots, pants, you know), a dented silver pocket watch, and that's it. He just recently got out of a coma.

Getting dragged into this shit grows old fast. 'Older Brother'. Last I checked, I'm not anyone's older brother. A guy can't rest easy anymore and these assholes aren't helping flocking around constantly.

If I find Aki and he's behind this, I'll kick his ass. Guess I can't do that if he isn't though. Dammit, what the hell's going on and how do I get out of it?
