To apply for a character, fill out the correct application down below and post it a comment on this entry. Please do not link applications in your journal or delete the comments once your application is processed. Let us know if you would like your application screened.

Apps open on the first of every month and remain open for one week, during which time the mods will begin processing. We're optimistic and hope you'll get the result of your app within a day, but some may take longer depending on the familiarity of the mods with the canon, and the number of apps received in that cycle. If four or more days pass with no response then we suggest you contact a mod.

You can reserve and apply for two characters per app cycle. Currently, players are allowed a maximum of three characters in-game at any given time.

Applications will be judged primarily on the personality section of the character in question, and how the player intends to adapt them into their new role. For this part we're mostly interested in what you plan to do with their powers and new destiny, not how the character will react to it. We'll see that in-game!

Since any OC applications must fall in the range of fairy tales that already exist in the world of Myth Making, these will be held to a higher expectation.

Processing will result in applications being accepted or denied, or revisions requested. Don't worry if you're asked for revisions! It means we're interested in your app, but require more information about something. We'll let you know what that is. If you are asked for revisions, you'll be given one week to provide them.

You are allowed to re-use sections of applications you wrote previously, so don't worry about rewriting your entire personality section. Do NOT plagiarise any part of another player's application for your own, as this will result in an instant ban.

Personality:

From what started out as a child in the woods, abandoned by his own family who were disturbed by his claims of communicating with Pokémon, this child was then picked up by Ghestis who planned to use him for his own elaborate schemes. This man saw him as the perfect specimen for his ideals and carefully shaped him into the "king" he envisioned. 'Purity' was the key word and it was exactly what Ghestis needed in a puppet. Using N's lack of/limited human contact, he continued this streak, enclosing him in a single room full of many toys to entertain him. The only humans who were allowed to interact with him were his foster sisters and the Seven Sages who educated him with everything he needed to know--everything except for the truth of the outside world. It was also in this room that he befriended many Pokémon, ones purposely shown to him, for they were specifically hurt and abused by selfish humans. And so it was through Ghestis' manipulative teachings that N unquestionably believed that humans and Pokémon were to separate if Pokémon were achieve any state of happiness.

Now as a young adult, he had realized Ghestis was just using him all along thanks to the revival ceremony of Reshiram backfiring. He then knew his foster father's beliefs of loving and liberating Pokémon was all a lie, but they were still deeply engraved in his heart. After escaping with his sisters, N was now independent from his royal prison.

This N is shown to be extremely curious by nature, exploring the outside world against his sisters' wishes to keep him safe. It is also stated he is learned in mythology concerning Pokémon and shows a keen interest in philosophical ideas and theories. He often questions the existentialism of Pokémon and goes on a journey to seek answers. But it is in N's belief that humans should cease contact with Pokémon despite having seen some who are completely happy with their trainers on his travels. He acknowledges their strong feelings but even then, refuses to agree with Pokémon battling and anything akin to violence. Anything he deems as misuse towards Pokémon is not tolerated, even going as far as to using his own body as a human shield to keep them from harm. It is because of this that he feels the number of unhappy Pokémon is too overwhelming for him to ignore. Having been taught one ideal for too long, he can be incredibly stubborn when opinions clash against his and will only relent when he sees the Pokémon in question is content. And being the one track mind he is, N is often prone to rambling and giving passionate speeches and is not afraid to speak his mind when dealing with disagreements. He will either speak too quietly or too fast and often will accompany his words with many hand gestures.

Aside from his passionate moments, N mostly maintains a quiet demeanor when not talking about the things he loves most, due to having little human social contact his whole life. But he states he was never lonely in his secluded room, the thought of having human friends never crossing his mind. (A bit ironic considering he believes all Pokémon to be his dear friends). Despite this, he does not shy away from human contact, possibly not knowing himself of the bonds he lacks. Rather, he can be cheerful in his own right, easily expressing his emotions to the point others would feel as weird or uncomfortable. It is a fact that N's childlike innocence is his best and undoubtedly worst point but is not incapable of opening his mind to differing opinions.

Canon Abilities or Powers: Understanding the hearts of Pokémon is N's forte. Speaking to them and translating their words and feelings comes naturally to him and is perceived as a rare and unique ability. He also seems to be able to sense their whereabouts if he chooses to seek them out if he ever needs their help.

Fairy Tale Role: Enkidu (Epic of Gilgamesh)
Fairy Tale Powers or Abilities: Much like his own gifted tongue of Pokémon, N will also be able to communicate with animals and be in tune with Nature just as Enkidu had. There will also be an addition of new found physical strength which almost rivals that of Gilgamesh who is 2/3rds god. However, due to this new experience he will not be able to control this well and will be more likely to break (his own bones) a cup than hold it. Surprisingly, the way he handles his animal friends remains gentle as ever, possibly due to an unconscious desire to keep them safe.

First Person Sample:

Stories do not merely exist to entertain. Though exaggerated some might be, all of them hold some sort of truth that only the listener can unravel. For that reason I had immersed myself in Pokémon mythology and why I listened to the pleas of the fairy tales of Märchenstraße. These saddened fairy tales reminded me of the fate Pokémon might have in store if humans continue turning a blind eye towards them. I must not let that happen!

In truth, I wish to go back to Unova. I am afraid my friends are still threatened by human selfishness and by Team Plasma. My imagination does not aid me as I wonder of the horrifying things they are being put through as I sit here in a far off world, helpless. But I deeply sympathize with the living tales and wish to help them as they are in front of me now.

However, here, I am not addressed as N but Enkidu. Who is this mythical figure I hear so much about? I have been told he is like me, a man who is friends with all creatures of nature. I would like to know more about him! If only there were an archive or a library somewhere...
