❅ Applications
Indefinitely.
To apply for a character, fill out the correct application down below and post it a comment on this entry. Please do not link applications in your journal or delete the comments once your application is processed. Let us know if you would like your application screened. Apps open on the first of every month and remain open for one week, during which time the mods will begin processing. We're optimistic and hope you'll get the result of your app within a day, but some may take longer depending on the familiarity of the mods with the canon, and the number of apps received in that cycle. If four or more days pass with no response then we suggest you contact a mod. You can reserve and apply for two characters per app cycle. Currently, players are allowed a maximum of three characters in-game at any given time. Applications will be judged primarily on the personality section of the character in question, and how the player intends to adapt them into their new role. For this part we're mostly interested in what you plan to do with their powers and new destiny, not how the character will react to it. We'll see that in-game! Since any OC applications must fall in the range of fairy tales that already exist in the world of Myth Making, these will be held to a higher expectation. Processing will result in applications being accepted or denied, or revisions requested. Don't worry if you're asked for revisions! It means we're interested in your app, but require more information about something. We'll let you know what that is. If you are asked for revisions, you'll be given one week to provide them. You are allowed to re-use sections of applications you wrote previously, so don't worry about rewriting your entire personality section. Do NOT plagiarise any part of another player's application for your own, as this will result in an instant ban. Do you play anyone in Myth Making?:
Nope
✒ IC
Name: Hayner
Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Canon Point: Day Six in Kingdom Hearts II
Age: 15
Personality:
A courteous first impression isn’t really Hayner’s forte. He tends to be guarded, rude, and private, especially if he feels like someone is barging in his space. Hayner has issues with people watching him practice as well. Kairi has been the only person he wasn’t rude to upon first meeting, but that’s likely because she fell unconscious out of a portal that materialized out of nothing. The quickest way to warm him up is athletically awesome. During Roxas’ organization days, he was a bother to Hayner until he did well with a ball and a struggle bat.
Once someone becomes his friend, he is loyal for life. His way of being affectionate is by teasing or even being physical; he pushes, nudges, slings an arm over, punches lightly, and even noogies his friends. He likes competing, especially while bored. He tends to push Pence and Olette to race against him to get ice cream.
Hayner is an impatient ball of energy that hates to stand around in one place far too long. He has been shown to fidget, shift from foot to foot and just move when he is forced to remain still. He tends to come up with ideas pretty quick and needs to be reeled in often by a voice of reason. Hayner is known as the local attitude problem thanks to the lack of brain to mouth filter. He’s very quick to temper, but just as quickly to forgive and forget.
Hayner some times doesn’t think his actions through. He can be impulsive and rash. His friends are usually pulled along for the ride or have to distract him with a new focus. During Roxas’ summer vacation in the digital Twilight Town, it took Roxas offering of finding who is actually behind the thefts to get Hayner off the task of hunting down Seifer. He is described as having an attitude problem and doesn’t deal well with bossy people.
Keeping promises and making memories are very important to Hayner. He knows people can’t be around forever, likely from experience, and wants to enjoy every moment that he has with his friends. "Well, I doubt we can be together forever. But isn't that what growing up is all about? What's important isn't how often we see each other, but how often we think about each other. Right?" He also feels like homework is a waste of time, but will go along with it for his friends and if it’s fun. He makes trips to the store into races. Promises seem to be important by how upset he got over Roxas forgetting. He does forgive pretty quickly.
Hayner takes things as they come and is quite resourceful in a pinch. He is more aware of what's happening than what people give him credit for. "Maybe you forgot I'm smart!" He likes to drag his friends along with his whims, like the races for ice cream or getting even with Seifer. He is quite the troublemaker and loves to play pranks.
Seifer gets his own spot. According to Jiminy the Cricket's journal entry, there is bad blood between the pair of boys. Most likely it is thanks to both of them holding foolish pride in their skills. Seifer seems bent on insulting or getting a rise from Hayner, and succeeds every time. When the scarred bully beat Hayner's Grandstander record, Hayner was on edge and moody. Hayner loses his cool when it comes to Seifer, but he will also go to Seifer if he needs help. Their relationship at best is rivals or frienemies. Hayner has respect and does strive to beat Seifer, especially when it comes to Struggle(whacking one another with padded bats to get the most balls). He even allows Seifer to monologue and waits, although impatiently shifting from foot to foot, until the other is finished talking.
His emotions are very easy to read just from his expressions. Hayner's stance, arm movement, and eyes are an open book on how he feels. He loves playing Struggle and Grandstander. Hayner also enjoys games that involve running. Often during Days, Roxas observed them, Hayner and his friends, racing around.
History:
A wiki link
Note: I glossed over some parts, other wise we would be here for a few more paragraphs of things. I tried to keep it short as I could, while keeping Hayner’s parts.
Hayner and his friends are basically part of the reason that Roxas learned about friendship.
Roxas: Why did those last two seem to enjoy getting pushed around like that? They were even making those "ha ha" noises.
Axel: You mean laughter? Sometimes people with hearts do that even when it doesn't make any sense.
Roxas: Oh... Then I guess they're different from us.
Axel: C'mon, let's get some ice cream.
Roxas: Why?
Axel: Whaddaya mean, why? Because we're friends.
Roxas: So...friends are people who have ice cream together?
Axel: Sort of... That, or laugh at stupid stuff that doesn't make any sense. Like those kids we just saw--they were friends. C'mon, I'll show you how it works.
Throughout the Days game, Hayner’s gang is shown goofing off and hanging out with each other. They would race through the streets of Twilight Town and Roxas found his attention drawn to them. Sometimes when Roxas was eavesdropping on them they would give hints to where he should investigate to continue on the storyline.
It wasn’t until Roxas’ day off that he actually got to interact with Hayner. He was wandering Twilight Town trying to figure out what to do with his first vacation day ever when he stumbled across the group in the sandlot. Hayner was on edge over Seifer beating his record and he treated Roxas as a nuisance. It wasn’t until Roxas showed he was skilled in the Grandstander act, which is basically solo volleyball with a bat, that Hayner was cool with him.
The last he sees of them during his Organization XIII days, is on his last day. They were just racing away as usual, with Pence lagging behind and Hayner deciding the loser buys ice cream.
Roxas: I guess...not all friendships fall apart.
After the end of Days, Roxas’ summer vacation begins. Riku and Diz tossed him inside a virtual copy of Twilight Town, and his memories were altered. In this world, Roxas was a normal kid, not a Nobody(someone without the “emotion” version of a heart), and he grew up with Hayner’s group. He was Seifer’s rival with Hayner, and they did everything together. This was all done in order to restore Sora’s memories, which were screwed up thanks to a crazy trip to a Castle.
Things went crazy when a thief stole both the town’s photos , and the actual word photos. Thanks to Seifer, everyone thought Hayner’s group were responsible. The actual culprit turned out to be Dusks, that look like stretched out noodle creatures without spines.
The second day of their summer vacation was doing odd jobs to buy a train ticket. They also made a promise to participate in the Struggle tournament and split the prize between all of them if they win.
Hayner: Just two days to go. You and I have to make the finals! That way, no matter who wins, the four of us split the prize!
At the end of it, a mysterious hooded figure that only Roxas could see stole all of their munny (currency in Kingdom Hearts that looks like two-toned beach balls).
Diz was a lazy butt and didn’t want to make a copy of Twilight Town’s beach. The third day was supposed to be the Beach trip again. Hayner had managed to get the money on his own and left a message for everyone to meet at the train station. Olette and Pence went to go shopping first and then things got weird. Time seemed to stop, and Namine, the reason Sora lost his memories in a previous game, appeared before Roxas. He followed her to the mansion until he was attacked by Dusks. He fled and wound up running into Seifer’s group in the sandlot. Time stopped again and he beat them all with a keyblade. When he woke up, Seifer’s group was standing before him and Hayner’s group came onto the scene. Hayner thought Roxas ditched them to hang out with Seifer. Roxas forgot about the promise to fight in the Struggle Tournament and tried to make plans for them to go to the beach then.
Roxas: ...Sorry. Hey...how 'bout we go tomorrow? We could get those pretzels and...
Hayner: I promised I'd be somewhere.
Hayner was mad and left their usual spot early.
The fourth day was tournament day. Hayner seemed to still be mad about the previous day, but it turns out he was already over it. He was likely too busy focusing on the tournament and pre-Struggle jitters to realize Roxas was worried about it. After they made up, they Struggle.
Roxas: I had a lot of fun fighting you.
(Hayner smiles, then stops and crosses his arms)
Hayner: Yeah, well I didn't, wise guy.
Roxas: Hey, let's find a way to cheer you up.
Hayner: Nah, that's all right.
There was another time pause in the middle of the round between Vivi and Roxas. Axel and DiZ appeared and they were telling Roxas not to listen to the other about who he was. Not wanting to hear it or to understand, he clung on to his Twilight Town friends and time started again. He finishes up the Struggle tournament, and Hayner winds up in third thanks to Seifer withdrawing. They split up the prize and enjoy an ice cream at the end of the day, but then Roxas fell off the clock tower.
On the fifth day, Roxas wakes up in bed as usual. When he asked his friends if he fell off, but it seems like it might have been a dream. He was missing his piece of the Struggle Trophy, which he was painfully reminded of later on the train. They all decided, much to Hayner’s reluctance, to do their summer homework. Their essay was on the seven wonders of Twilight Town. Hayner split off with Olette to investigate it their own way, while Roxas went with Pence. Roxas found a lot of weird things that only he managed to see. The sixth wonder was the Ghost Train, and while waiting they were bothered by Seifer.
The train pulls up to the station, and Roxas went to board it, but was stopped by Hayner. The train wasn’t really there, and if he had tried to board it he would have fallen on the track moments before an actual train pull in. Hayner is moody and shoves Roxas on to the real train without talking about what is even going on. Hayner refused to scope out the last wonder, which turned out to be the Mansion. Roxas went off to investigate anyways. More weird things happen to Roxas, involving a chat with Namine about who he really is, and Pence snaps him back to reality. Turns out they, Hayner’s group, were all planning on checking out the mansion on the last day of vacation out of concern for Roxas. Hayner had even asked Seifer for help. Something seems wrong with Roxas and they thought it could be connected with the Mansion.
They all meet up for ice cream and things carry on normal. They mention that the next day will be the search to find out what is going on with Roxas, and then the last day is a festival. It turns out that Roxas’ summer vacation ends much earlier than expected…
On the sixth day, Hayner and his friends pass right through Roxas as if he wasn’t even there. At this point it isn’t clear as to why that happened. It could be that thanks to Roxas’ heart connecting to Kairi on accident when he fell off the tower, that a leak over between the fake and real Twilight Town was happening, and that Roxas was seeing the real Twilight Town instead.
Roxas eventually remembers the truth and angrily returns to Sora.

It’s weird. Very weird to write in a book and not deliver it anywhere. Does it really work?
[A beat.]
Don’t answer that really. This is just crazy. It’s like some lame kind of shared diary.
[There is something scribbled out here.]
Just point to me where I can get some ice cream in this place.
