❅ Applications

Applications are: CLOSED
Indefinitely.

To apply for a character, fill out the correct application down below and post it a comment on this entry. Please do not link applications in your journal or delete the comments once your application is processed. Let us know if you would like your application screened.

Apps open on the first of every month and remain open for one week, during which time the mods will begin processing. We're optimistic and hope you'll get the result of your app within a day, but some may take longer depending on the familiarity of the mods with the canon, and the number of apps received in that cycle. If four or more days pass with no response then we suggest you contact a mod.

You can reserve and apply for two characters per app cycle. Currently, players are allowed a maximum of three characters in-game at any given time.

Applications will be judged primarily on the personality section of the character in question, and how the player intends to adapt them into their new role. For this part we're mostly interested in what you plan to do with their powers and new destiny, not how the character will react to it. We'll see that in-game!

Since any OC applications must fall in the range of fairy tales that already exist in the world of Myth Making, these will be held to a higher expectation.

Processing will result in applications being accepted or denied, or revisions requested. Don't worry if you're asked for revisions! It means we're interested in your app, but require more information about something. We'll let you know what that is. If you are asked for revisions, you'll be given one week to provide them.

You are allowed to re-use sections of applications you wrote previously, so don't worry about rewriting your entire personality section. Do NOT plagiarise any part of another player's application for your own, as this will result in an instant ban.

Test drive memes will go up on our meme comm, [community profile] mythmemes, the same day reserves open!

Do you play anyone in Myth Making?: no

IC
Name: Anemone
Canon: Eureka Seven
Canon Point: episode 42
Age: 16

Personality: Anemone is the very picture of a bratty and spoiled girl. She acts sweet when it suits her, faking naivety and awe, before playing tricks on people that range from harmless to awful. While many others are usually (and rightfully so) grated by her outlandish behavior, she doesn't care a single bit. Anemone is well aware of her importance as a pilot and an Artificial Coralian, so she knows that she can get away with just about anything. Essentially, Anemone is the type of person who does whatever she wants when she wants--there aren't many people who can tell her otherwise. She even orders around people who should be her superiors just for the fun of it, and most of the time they have to listen. From her messy eating habits to her mocking laughter, she's not exactly the type of girl you would think of as a charming young lady.

However, Anemone only acts like that about half the time. In truth, the experiments she was forced to go through exhausted her both mentally and physically. She frequently suffers from nosebleeds, extremely painful headaches, and severe moodswings. One minute she can be laughing in delight, and the next she can be viciously snapping at the same person who made her laugh. All her usual brash confidence disappears as soon as a headache or moodswing comes on; she'll want nothing to do with people, not at all, even if they're only trying to help her via medicine or just talking. In fact, she often becomes downright afraid of everything, especially when asked to pilot and enter combat. At that point, the only way to get her to do anything is by injecting a drug. While it will temporarily ease her pain and focus her mind, it also brings out a destructive bloodlust that spells out sure pain for anyone out on the battlefield.

Despite all her suffering though, Anemone seems to be the type of person to just go with the flow. She still remembers happier times of when she was with her family, before she was forced to go through painful and life-threatening experiments, but when emotionally stable she often has fun and enjoys herself. It seems that she bears no grudge against the people who made her who she is. However, this is somewhat different in regards to the person in charge of her experimentation: Dewey. While around him or by his side, Anemone is incredibly affectionate to him, almost disgustingly so--again, going with the flow as he is essentially her boss. When alone though, she almost certainly hates him, as she is shown throwing a strand of his hair off her shoulder in absolute disgust. Despite her emotional instability, her feelings are quite complicated. Even though she hates Dewey, she's also aware that there's nothing she can do against him.

Complicated as her feelings are, Anemone doesn't quite understand them all that well. She becomes depressed after multiple attempts to capture the Nirvash and Eureka that end in failure as she is aware of what makes her valuable--her ability as a pilot. If she fails to do the only thing she is capable of doing, then there's no point to her existence. When she is assigned a suicide mission, she isn't told explicitly of what will happen to her, but she seems to understand that it will end in her death on some level--and she's okay with it. It isn't until faced with sure death that she begins to regret how she lived her life and how she wishes she could do things differently. She wants to smile more, to laugh from the bottom of her heart, to be happy, and most importantly, to return Dominic's feelings for her now that she finally understands. At her core, past the childish attitude and nasty behavior, Anemone really just wants to be a normal girl who does normal things who laughs, who loves, who lives. It's not something she dwells on though, and at the moment she doesn't care to think about the deeper problems that are in her life.
History: Anemone @ the Eureka Seven wikia

Canon Abilities or Powers: Anemone is an exceptional pilot when it comes to LFO units. She is also an Artificial Coralian, granting her some level of connection to the Scub Coral, although it's not as deep as a true Coralian's connection.

Fairy Tale Role: the princess from The Green Knight
Fairy Tale Powers or Abilities: As the princess from The Green Knight, should Anemone read certain passages from books aloud, they will happen in reality. For example, if she read something like "A strong wind blew across the sea." a gust of wind would come from the sea to her.

Personal Items: the clothes on her back, her pet badger Gulliver, and a small suitcase with syringe and few vials of the sedative she takes

First Person Sample: [The handwriting that appears is messy and scribbled, as if the quill was pressed far too hard on the journal out of anger.]

Okay seriously, what's with this place? The people in charge must seriously be stupid if they think they can just kidnap me just because they feel like. [Only mentioning herself? Someone's a bit self-important.] Not to mention it's so boring here. The other day I read that it rained in a book and it actually started raining nearby. Is that all there is to do for fun around here, make it rain or something? Talk about lame.

Ugh, I don't even know if this dumb book's actually going to work. Whatever.
Third Person Sample: Here.
