Indefinitely.
To apply for a character, fill out the correct application down below and post it a comment on this entry. Please do not link applications in your journal or delete the comments once your application is processed. Let us know if you would like your application screened. Apps open on the first of every month and remain open for one week, during which time the mods will begin processing. We're optimistic and hope you'll get the result of your app within a day, but some may take longer depending on the familiarity of the mods with the canon, and the number of apps received in that cycle. If four or more days pass with no response then we suggest you contact a mod. You can reserve and apply for two characters per app cycle. Currently, players are allowed a maximum of three characters in-game at any given time. Applications will be judged primarily on the personality section of the character in question, and how the player intends to adapt them into their new role. For this part we're mostly interested in what you plan to do with their powers and new destiny, not how the character will react to it. We'll see that in-game! Since any OC applications must fall in the range of fairy tales that already exist in the world of Myth Making, these will be held to a higher expectation. Processing will result in applications being accepted or denied, or revisions requested. Don't worry if you're asked for revisions! It means we're interested in your app, but require more information about something. We'll let you know what that is. If you are asked for revisions, you'll be given one week to provide them. You are allowed to re-use sections of applications you wrote previously, so don't worry about rewriting your entire personality section. Do NOT plagiarise any part of another player's application for your own, as this will result in an instant ban. Xion || Kingdom Hearts || Reserved
Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Canon Point: Day 356 - Mid-fight with Axel in front of the Old Mansion
Age: Nearly fifteen in appearance; 349 days in reality
Personality:
Pensive, reflective, yet pressing to be steadfast in what she thinks is right.
Xion first may come off as coy and socially awkward to those she just gets to know. Considering her rare interactions with those outside of the Organization though, it's hardly surprising. It's not to say she can't hold a conversation. She manages well enough with one-on-one interactions as demonstrated with Riku and later with Genie and Naminé. But holding a conversation outside of the Organization's goals often leads to a game of twenty questions and lots of awkward. Which turns into even more awkward when questions are thrown back at her. Xion's very secretive about her origins... Frankly, because she's fearful of anyone knowing about it. There's enough self-loathing for what she is but for others to know as well- It's not information she's willing to give at the drop of a hat and her discomfort shows; she'll do her best to quickly dodge and change the subject. If there's anything she has learned later on down the line while talking with Axel and Roxas, it's how to hide things- for better or worse. Although, considering her origins, it doesn't take much to realize she has an incredibly bad poker face.
Her general demeanor around new people is calm yet cautious. Curious yet withdrawn. Xion's a thinker, a reflector. Someone who steps lightly and chooses words carefully under quiet circumstances. Often uncertain and second-guessing internally while she may put on a front of vague knowing. Like Roxas, she's very curious and wants answers but she's less inclined to trust people or perhaps has a better grasp of who to trust. Quite possibly a trait from her association with the memories of Kairi rather than Sora himself. She's overall soft spoken and unsure of a lot of things, which makes her appear weak and easily manipulated.
But despite this initial attitude, Xion is surprisingly fiercely independent. This perhaps is complimented by those whose memories she shares. Both Sora and Kairi have their stubborn tendencies, after all. And a strong willingness to handle things on their own... which she's really more than capable of, even in tight situations for long periods of time as demonstrated when she went missing for three weeks because she had lost the ability to use the keyblade. Roxas no doubt influences her as well. It's not that she doesn't trust her friends. She just doesn't wish to burden them, especially with all the insecurities that she has.
Throughout most of her lifespan with The Organization, Xion was constantly putting the pieces together as to the reason why she existed in the first place. What was she, even? These were answers that The Organization itself never gave her, so she had to seek them out through her own means. This mainly stemmed from her meeting with Riku, but with Xion's personality, it was only really a matter of time otherwise. Or so it may be speculated at least. This was information she highly valued-- reasons and knowledge are important to her. So much that she'll leave her friends behind to seek them out herself.
That may lead people to believe that she doesn't trust her friends at all, but that's not the case. Xion puts a lot of faith in them. She just... puts a lot more in herself to be able to handle things. In a way, it makes her brash and perhaps unconsciously cynical-- 'No one can help me but myself', so to say. While relying on others isn't wrong, it makes her feel weak, useless. Disposable. And she hates that feeling. It also can be noted that the Organization members tended to be trained to work by themselves continuously, so that is perhaps another factor that assembled her habit of holding things back and dealing with matters by herself. It certainly didn't help when she was once called a mistake by her superior. And while she took it on with a brave face, she was obviously bothered by the matter. That doesn't mean she won't seek her friends out at all. She's been known to confront Axel on several occasions. It is perhaps simply due to what she was finding out about herself that she simply wasn't confronting her friends regarding the information-- especially since the further in she got, the meeker things seemed to be.
Even past this though, it's not like she never gives things good thought. As noted before, Xion's always thinking. Always. It's like she couldn't stop even if she wanted to. She's naturally very reflective. Exhaustively so, even. A lot of it stems from her origins, perhaps. Despite her travels, she's not very worldly when it comes to dealing with what might seem as common sense to them. It's like half hers was "lost" when in truth while she carries the memories from Sora and might then have subconsciously learned some things from him without even knowing, there are still many things she doesn't know about, only learning through her own experiences. Thus, for example, she might know what a database is yet she couldn't describe what a library is to you.
Her tendency to consider and reconsider things though, of course, leads into her melancholic nature. Despite the resolve she does her best to hold onto, Xion's quick to brood over things, even if they are out of her control. She comes off as someone with a lot of empathy-- ironic for what she is. Even if she might think she is trying to do her best and make the right choices, for as resolved as her front was, it doesn't take much for guilt to overwhelm her in confrontation with her friends. The people she cherishes always come before anything else in her mind. So, when she hurts them, it eats away at her indefinitely until she's certain that she's made it up to them. But, even then, it doesn't take much for her to shoulder the blame again if she's reminded. It's just how she is.
Past all her melancholy, Xion does carry a warm side to her. When she opens up to her friends, she more than welcomes, jokes, jeering, and gentle banter. This is where a lot of her borrowed traits from Kairi show. She'll laugh and tease and smile with her friends. This is something that perhaps may be muffled some around her best friends now due to circumstances, but it is a side of her that comes about when she's comfortable and happy. There's nothing that make her feel more at home than spending time eating ice cream up on the clock tower and watching the sunset with her friends. Because those times were when her friends were the happiest... and so was she.
Her friend's happiness- Rather, her friends in general, come before her always. And she will tend to them as best as she can in all the ways she can- even if later on it eventually means giving up her own existence. Xion later calls herself the real affront. The answers she found made her begin to lose what little self-worth she had in the first place, her poor treatment in the Organization further estranging her to the point that while she has great value in her friends, she grows to bear little to her self, admitting that she's 'nothing more than a puppet'- and it will be a difficult process for her to regain any of that worth. Her self-preservation draws heavily with her friends. 'They need me- and I need them, too.'
But that doesn't mean she won't react towards others if provoked. Like Sora, Xion does have a rash side to her, one that makes her dive into a situation without thinking first. It's a very contradicting side to her at times considering her lack of self-worth, but all the same, she won't just accept something without reason. Her first encounter with Riku can attest to it. While less likely to showcase it at least in front of Roxas and Axel, more prone to brooding in frustration, anything that involves having her friends hurt in some way whether physically or otherwise would definitely trigger this side of her. This can also tend to be her knee-jerk reaction when people hide things from her knowingly and purposefully-- Ironic, really.
Past all this though, Xion really is a warm, complex being. She may be replica, or "puppet" as some would call it, but she certainly doesn't seem like one. She smiles, laughs, broods, acts out, and everything in between. To just refer to her as one word would generalize her just as much as anyone else.

Since the KH wiki is sorely inaccurate, I'll throw down this abridged version:
When people lose their hearts in this series, their heart is often captured by a dark creature known as a Heartless. Their body then becomes a hollow shell, or "nobody". Strong nobodies keep their original form and conscious but it is believed they don't have hearts to feel with. Xion was part of a group of these special nobodies known as Organization XIII. They were lead by Xemnas and stationed in a castle in The World That Never Was. Their goal was to regain their lost hearts, thus regaining their ability to feel, by creating Kingdom Hearts.
Kingdom Hearts isn't extensively explained in the series, but it is said to be the heart of all worlds and thus very powerful. In order to create Kingdom Hearts though, they need a keyblade. Keyblades are the only weapons that can successfully remove hearts from Heartless. The hearts will then gather slowly in order to form Kingdom Hearts. Roxas, the thirteenth member of this Organization, could wield the keyblade. However, Xion (or No. i) was created by the Organization as a fall back plan in case Roxas proved to be useless.
Roxas, Xion, and even Axel for a time are blissfully unaware of this as they bond by eating ice cream on top of a clock tower in Twilight Town almost every day after capturing hearts. However, Roxas and Xion both start to face moments of instability and comas due to the person they are connected to: Sora. Sora is the original keybearer who was tasked with protecting the worlds from the heartless. However, because he lost his heart, Roxas was created. But due to being restored shortly after, Roxas holds none of his memories. Instead, he takes on existence as a blank slate, more than likely sustained by Ven's heart which was transferred over to him through Sora and also gives him the boy's appearance.
When Sora's memories are replaced with false ones by the memory witch, Naminé, in the Organization's second base, Castle Oblivion, the loose links of his real memories begin to link not only with Roxas but with Xion, too. Xion's purpose is to absorb memories from Sora, her power and later whole being stabilized through them. This is why she can wield the keyblade like Roxas. Because of the push and pull between her and Roxas though, Xion at one point loses this ability. It's regained with his and Axel's help.
Despite this, due to her having more unstable moments, Xion tends to get more of the bad rap. This makes her more restless and anxious to know more about herself. This is especially the case after her encounter with someone who is posing as one of the Organization members. During this fight, not only does Xion lose to the impostor but she is told that she's better off "finding a new crowd". It's a confusing mixed message for her. It doesn't help that after that fight, her body doesn't seem to want to cooperate with her, leading one of the Organization members, Saix, to calling her broken and a mistake. Xion takes this harder than she likes to admit.
Xion also begins to remember things that she thinks are from her life as a human and that strings her along to become more and more curious to discover her origins. Axel's odd behavior only makes her more curious. This eventually leads her to Castle Oblivion where she finds out the truth about herself: she is "nothing more than a puppet", or a replica of Sora's unchained memories.
She defects from the Organization and it's believed that she travels by herself until a memory episode lands her quite literally in the arms of the impostor. He turns out to be Sora's friend, Riku. He's been trying to find a way to wake Sora up who is now in the process of having his real memories linked back up. The thing is there's a snag: both she and Roxas have some of his memories. And without them? He won't wake. Despite now knowing the truth though, Xion declines to go with Riku since while she understands his dilemma, her own friends are really important to her, and her, to them.
Riku gives her time to think about things as they world hop. This is interrupted, however, when Xion is split from Riku at Twilight Town. Roxas manages to corner her in the back alley of the plaza and tries to convince her to come back to the Organization. When Xion refuses, Axel enters the scene and takes her back by force. Xion returns to her duties with the Organization and tries to get Roxas to reconcile with Axel despite the fight. All the while, she continues to deal with her dilemma concerning Sora.
As weeks go by, Roxas begins to weaken while she grows stronger. Eventually, Xion confronts Axel about the matter at hand. Xion is taking too much power and memories from Roxas and he likely won't last if things continue as they do. Xion can't get herself to act-- but then the Organization forces her hand when they decide to cast an illusion on both her and Roxas. On a mission, they envision each other as the powerful Heartless that they are supposed to eliminate and nearly destroy one another. It is only by Axel's interference that the mission is aborted, but the damage is already done.
With the Organization's motive made clear, Xion again defects and goes to seek out Riku in order to return to Sora. Riku sends her to Naminé at the Old Mansion in Twilight Town. It is there that Naminé explains the effects of her returning to Sora. Because her being is dependent on Sora's memories existing outside of Sora to sustain her, when they return to him and are only his again, no one will remember her. Despite this cost, Xion agrees to go only for their conversation to be interrupted by the sighting of an Organization member. Xion goes to confront them. It's none other than Axel who has come to stop her. Despite his protests, Xion fights him. However, she is defeated and taken back to Organization's stronghold.
There, the Organization's leader, Xemnas, is believed to have reprogrammed her and possibly force a ton of extra memories (and thus power) into her being. Xion is then sent out to confront Roxas (who has also defected by that point) and absorb him. She finds him at the clock tower in Twilight Town and after one last ice cream, she reveals the truth to him and attacks. After a heated battle throughout various worlds in various forms, Xion is defeated by Roxas. As she lays fading in his arms, she explains to him that it was her choice to return and asks him to grant her one last request: free Kingdom Hearts. Just as Roxas remembers her, Xion's consciousness fades.
...And you can find the extended edition here, if anyone ever feels that crazy to read that much.

Keyblade
A weapon that chooses its wielder. Capable of sealing worlds and freeing hearts.
Sham or not, due to Sora's power being absorbed into her own being, Xion has become capable of calling on this to aid her. And since her time during the Organization revolved around destroying heartless of many varieties, Xion fights proficiently later on as seen in her defeat of Xigbar and how Axel barely managed to bring her back to the Organization's home front before collapsing into unconsciousness.
She holds it two-handed usually and tends to make wide arced strikes. Her fighting style comes off often as one of desperate but focused offense. She might appear clumsy, but it is that very first impression that just serves to give her an edge over an opponent unknowing of her true abilities.
The keyblade itself is large enough both to serve well in packing a lot of punch as well as taking a beating instead of its wielder. The pummel is perfect for blocking attacks since it's ridiculously wide although she's more likely to use the blade itself to defend herself. A variety of keychains (See Days Section) can also be attached to it that further enhances the capabilities of its purpose, granting her additional strength and magical capabilities while changing the appearance of the keyblade itself.
Because it's naturally attune to magic as well, she can channel stronger spells of various varieties through it. The keyblade's most intense strength as far as magic goes is its own light induced properties, giving her a strong combination of wide area of effect attacks at the cost of quickly exhausting her. One ability to note is actually the same one that Roxas himself uses: (Event Horizon (3:50). During it, she strikes twice as fast with light-induced properties collected in her keyblade for an edge. In the final strike, four pillars of light explode out from the center and shoot out in all four cardinal directions. Just like his, she can only use it as a safety net sort of move and it quickly exhausts her, but it's very efficient when desperate times call for desperate measures.
Also to be noted is that the keyblade acts basically like a skeleton key. Most things with lock-holes can be either locked or unlocked with it unless there is a magic that counteracts the attempt. It is still arguable whether her own can or can't seal worlds, but considering there are no worlds to do that with here, it's a moot point.
Magic (See Days Section) -
While the other Organization members specialize in one specific element (such as Axel to fire and Vexen to ice), Xion is capable of four different offensive arts including Fire, Thunder, Aero, and Blizzard. She also can produce the healing spell, cure. All of these spells have three different levels to them that produce more powerful or skillful results. Second level spells end in -ra. Third in -aga. Due to the variety, the power of these spells would not necessarily rival a well trained sorcerer/magician. However, they do serve the excellent purpose of long range and give her a more well-rounded background. As one would guess though, the stronger the spell, the more energy it saps out of her. These spells can be produced either by bare hands or through the keyblade. The keyblade itself strengthens the spell, capable of better channeling the magic.
Dark Corridors
Portals that take root in darkness and harness a shortcut through an alternate plane to cut through the distance in seconds whether it be between one side of a city to another or one world to another. Of course, Xion must first have a visual of the place she needs to portal to before she can go there herself (or so head canon dictates), but once she has been to a place, she need only envision it and open a corridor to traverse there. While she won't be able to move between worlds here, these will become a useful aid for moving around in the city itself.
Memory Absorption
Xion's creation came about for the purpose of absorbing Sora's memories from Roxas and Sora himself in order to become a new Sora would they would be able to have under their thumb. It's believed that they started her on the memory samples they had gathered from Castle Oblivion, but canon isn't very crisp about these details. Either way, this was what would lead to her downfall in the end where she would have to choose to either erase herself or watch her friend be erased when this aspect of hers was forced into play. Due to her canon point, she's acquired... approximately 80% of Sora's memories? Just a rough estimate. This actually benefits any Sora who would join the game. After all, she wouldn't absorb memories her body knows it already has. Her effect on Ven is still up in the air (and really? Up to the player.)
How the memory absorption itself works is generally an enigma. There is no specific information in canon that explains matters in fine print. However, it has been implied to have a sort of sporadic effect between the two of them. For example, Xion loses her ability to wield the keyblade early in the game. Then, later on, Roxas begins to run out of steam while she's burning through missions. However, only a few days after Xion leaves the Organization in that state does Roxas seem to regain his strength (otherwise, it would be a pretty big stretch on how he ever could have defeated Saix and left the Organization).
So, the theory is this. Xion and Roxas affect one another through constant close approximation. This at least is a canon fact. The head canon, however, is that the effect is a gradual pendulum, one of them having their powers growing while the other has their powers waning for a time. And then it going the other way around. Helping one another, they can find a means to help anchor the other if they become too weak (for example, Roxas lends his own keyblade to Xion to help her "remember" how to call her own). But in cases where one of them has greatly waned, one of two scenarios may occur. The weaker one will either start to rapidly absorb from the other in order to survive. Or the stronger one will begin to rapidly absorb them instead. Best method of cutting it off? Distance or knocking out the one who's absorbing the other. This, of course, is subject to be adjusted and changed to coincide with the wishes of any potential Roxas player should they potentially apply here.
Who Do You See?
Boom.
Xion is a replica made from Sora's (and possibly Ven's*) memories. A prototype, really. Thus her name being No. i. With i being for the imaginary number. Rearrange this and add in the "X" and you get Xion. In the beginnings of her existence, everyone who saw her could only see a hooded figure in the standard Organization coat. It's said that she didn't even have a face at that point. She was quite literally a blank slate. But when Naminé went to work rechaining Sora's memories in Castle Oblivion, the first ones that she manipulated were his memories of Kairi. When they were messed with, through Xion's close approximation with Roxas, Sora's Nobody, they found their way into her.
Thus is why she takes on an appearance that reflects the red head's younger features from her short, cropped albeit black haircut to the similar blue of her eyes (although if you look, they're honestly more of Sora's blue; this can especially be seen when she's side by side with Roxas). It's not entirely clarified how people begin to see her as this. Best guess suggests that when people start to see her as a person instead of a tool or an unknown x factor, that's when they begin to view her as such. For instance, with Axel, it took him a while to recognize her as more than Roxas' tag along. But when he did, even coming to call her friend, he began to see her base form. But that's just the beginning. Because then there would be those, of course, who may see her as Sora (or Ven) depending on their connections to people. Perhaps even Kairi. However, because of the amount of her own memories that she's gathered by her canon point, Xion's base form will remain her strongest and most identifiable one for the most part [although chances are she may be seen as other people given that she does carry a good handful of Sora's memories (and possibly Ven's?) at this time].
*While canon source has never outright spelled out whether Xion carries memories from Ven, Sora has yet to have shown having any specific memories with Ven aside from his brief conversation with him in heart state. However, since Ven's heart has been resting inside of Sora, there is a chance that Xion could have absorbed some of his memories, too. This would explain why Xion appears to look like Ven at one moment during her encounter with Xigbar. Whether she actually has an effect on Ven or if her link is solely through Sora and thus harmless otherwise is something that would be up to the Ven player should they ever apply.
Awareness
Having been hassled about recon during her days in the Organization, Xion can be more observant than some people. Perhaps not all the time, but if there's a reason for her to keep her eyes peeled, one can be sure that she'll do so diligently.
Extra Misc. Info
Also to be noted is that Xion basically mirrors Roxas' acrobatic tendencies-- and, well. Basically any of his abilities that he has she is able to do, herself. Such as air sliding, gliding for short periods, dodge rolling (self-explanatory), and aerial recovery (able to bounce back mid-air time after being hit and thrown in the air). All in all, Xion's relatively quick and nimble on her feet, Not to mention she's pretty flexible. She can easily duck and dodge, roll and parry with a certain amount of skill. She may not be the most fluid of people, but she certainly isn't a pushover. About the only thing she hasn't mirrored is his ability to dual-wield-- and for a striking reason. Considering he was granted it when he would later absorb her powers.

Fairy Tale Powers or Abilities:
She is made of snow and will melt from love. Okay, not really, although apparently in other versions, she does. Just not in this one. But she has the powers to... wear warm clothes while still a mound of snow. And uh. Move. All human-like. Yeah, she's a walking snow-human. Imagine she could easily chill you a drink if she held it long enough. Bam. Ice-cold beer. YEAH. Or give you frostbite if she touched you for too long. Ouch. She also has the powers to not bleed? Unless you count melting as bleeding?
But yes, she's still likely to melt at high temperatures. Summer is gonna suck for her and will probably be dealt with by her hiding out in thick wood or higher on the peaks or something unless gamely game powers will allot her something to protect herself from the sun before summer arrives in-game. That would be nice, actually.
Personal Items:
+ A keyblade
+ An organization uniform that includes her coat, snazzy knee-highs, and gloves plus whatever underclothes that they never state in the game. (I'd say standard black t-shirt and tight-clad pants as some art would suggest)
+ A seashell
+ A few potions (which likely won't work here?)
First Person Sample:
"Snegurochka.
That's the name it says on this journal. I guess it's supposed to be mine now. Only I know it's not. At least I'm pretty sure. No one really seems to want to give me answers. They just say that's who I am. But I know it's not. At least I'm pretty sure.
I remember everything from back there. It hasn't faded. And I don't want it to. I need to go back there. I'm just not sure how I could. But all that had to be real. ...Right?"
"Roxas, Axel--
I'm not sure why I'm even writing this to you two. I guess because no matter how I know this won't get to you, maybe at least writing this down will clear my mind.
There's just so much about me that I didn't know. Who I was. Where I came from. What kind of life I had when I was human. Maybe I should have just been happy being "exceptional" like Xigbar said. But I couldn't be proud to use the keyblade anymore. Not when I found out what it was doing to you, Roxas.
I started having these dreams. At first, I thought they were memories of that life I had before the Organization, but something just seemed wrong about them. I wasn't sure what, but it made me uneasy. And then, Axel... It felt like you were hiding something from me. And then I found out what and why. But you still called me your best friend and said things were up to me.
So, I wanted to make that choice. To help you both. But it seems like I can't even do that right. So, instead, I'll be here, trying to find a way back. But if you find this, I want you to know that you're still both my best friends. Even if I'm gone when you find this, that's still the truth."
